Difference between Low Frequency And High Frequency Seismometers

Seismometers are seismic sensors that contain information on the media response to the seismic wave energy that interacts with the Earth.

Low frequency seismometers detect seismic waves with high wave lengths that go deeper in the Earth and are good in petroleum exploration.

High frequency seismometers detect Seismic Waves with low wave lengths that do not go deeper into the Earth and are good in engineering and environmental geophysical surveys.

The cost of low-frequency seismometers is more expensive than high frequency.
