At present, the geophysical exploration methods and technologies mainly include the following:
1. Gravity exploration
Gravity exploration refers to a method of geological exploration that uses the changes in the surface gravity acceleration value caused by the density differences between various rock bodies and ore bodies that make up the earth's crust. As long as there is a certain density difference between the geological body to be explored and the surrounding rock bodies, the gravity anomaly can be found with a precise gravity measuring instrument. Then, combined with the geological and other geophysical data of the working area, the gravity anomaly is qualitatively and quantitatively interpreted, and the burial conditions of the ore bodies and rock layers with different densities below the overburden can be inferred, and then the location and geological structure of the hidden ore bodies can be found.
2. Magnetic exploration
Magnetic exploration refers to the fact that rocks and ores in nature have different magnetic properties and can produce different magnetic fields. It causes the earth's magnetic field to change in local areas and cause geomagnetic anomalies. Use instruments to discover and study these magnetic anomalies, and then find magnetic ore bodies and study geological structures.
3. Electrical exploration
Electrical exploration refers to a geophysical exploration method that uses the differences in the electrical properties of rocks and ores to find minerals and study geological structures. It is to observe artificial and natural electric fields or alternating electromagnetic fields through instruments, and analyze and interpret the characteristics and laws of these fields, so as to achieve the purpose of prospecting and exploration.
4. Seismic Exploration
Seismic exploration is to use artificially excited seismic waves, arrange survey lines on the ground, receive its reflected waves, and then perform some processing to reflect the underground structure and serve the purpose of finding oil and gas and other exploration purposes.
5. Radioactive Exploration
Radioactive exploration is also called radiometric measurement or "gamma method". It is a geophysical method that uses special instruments to measure the intensity of these rays or other geological problems by using the properties of α, β, and γ rays emitted by the decay of natural radioactive elements in the crust, which will produce special physical phenomena such as ionization and fluorescence when passing through matter. Radioactive exploration is also an auxiliary means to find rare elements, rare earth elements and polymetallic element deposits that coexist with radioactive elements. Radioactive geophysical methods include γ measurement, radiation sampling, γ logging, radiative measurement, track measurement and physical analysis.
6. Well logging
Well logging, also known as geophysical logging, is a method of measuring geophysical parameters by using the geophysical properties of rock formations, such as electrochemical properties, electrical conductivity, acoustic properties, and radioactivity. It is one of the applied geophysical methods. When drilling for oil, logging, also known as completion electrical logging, must be carried out after drilling to the designed well depth to obtain various petroleum geological and engineering technical data, which is used as the original data for completion and development of oil fields. This type of logging is usually called open hole logging. The second series of logging carried out after the casing is lowered into the oil well is usually called production logging or development logging. The development of production logging has generally gone through four stages: analog logging, digital logging, CNC logging, and imaging logging.
7. Geothermal Exploration
Geothermal resource exploration refers to the comprehensive geological, geophysical, and geochemical surveys, as well as drilling and testing, sampling testing, dynamic monitoring and other geological work to identify geothermal resources in a certain area. According to the degree of exploration work, it can be divided into investigation, pre-feasibility exploration, feasibility exploration, and mining stages.
